Hello my name is David Bowden I live in Exeter Devon and I have been making toys and other wooden things for over twenty years, I also renovate and repair wooden toys.
My trading name is D.B.CRAFTS. my products are Wooden toys and jigsaw puzzles.
1. Do you have any professional making qualifications, or did you do a course?
I am completely self taught although I have taken a course in wood carving which has helped me with inspiration to make other items in wood.
2. Where do you get your ideas?
My ideas are brought about by keeping the tradition of old toys in focus, some of the toys I make were about in Victorian times.
3. How long does one of your toys take to make?
The length of time taken on each toy is dependent on the toy itself, I like to produce quality toys that will last.
4. What's your favourite toy?
My favourite toy is the wooden train or fire engine that I have made recently. Every child likes a train or fire engine.
5. Are you working on anything new at the moment?
At the moment I am working on a rocking horse that a lady brought me to finish, her father made three - this one he did not finish before he sadly died.
